About

I’m an artist first, which probably explains a lot.

I’ve spent most of my life making things—photographs, paintings, businesses, brands, gardens, spaces, experiences and occasionally something I had absolutely no idea how to make when I started.

I’m endlessly curious about people. I ask a lot of questions, notice small things and genuinely enjoy figuring out why something works, why it doesn’t, or why someone responds to it the way they do. That curiosity has followed me through nearly every version of my career.

I’m also someone who likes ideas considerably more once they have somewhere to go. I love the early, messy part of a problem—when there are too many possibilities and the answer hasn’t revealed itself yet—but I’m equally interested in what it takes to carry a good idea into the real world.

That combination has made for a career that doesn’t fit particularly neatly into one discipline. I’m okay with that.

These days, I’m most interested in working alongside thoughtful, talented people on things worth caring about—work with humanity in it, room for curiosity, and enough creative possibility to make something we’re genuinely proud to put into the world.

When I’m not doing that, I’m usually growing something, making something, wandering around Alaska with a camera, or hanging out with my very opinionated Australian Shepherd and my husband of more than 15 years—who, to his credit, has tolerated a remarkable number of my ideas becoming projects.
